Tim's Journey
A new chapter
May 26th, 2026
Hello friends and family,
In early May, a series of events unfolded that has led to a new phase of care for Tim. He is at home and comfortable, but there have been significant changes to his health.
About two weeks ago, Tim suffered a brain bleed after a fall. He was admitted to Munson and underwent emergency surgery, which stopped the bleeding; however, Tim didn't recover from his surgery as we hoped he would. Before his fall he was showing symptoms of stage 4 Parkinson's. His injury has significantly exacerbated those symptoms and his life expectancy is being measured in weeks.
After consulting with medical professionals, we've decided to adopt a palliative care approach with Tim. We brought Tim home on May 22nd and are working with Munson Hospice and other care providers on an in-home basis. This means we will give him comfort care, but not seek further medical intervention.
Tim was relieved to get home. It's been wonderful for him to sleep and wake up in his own bed. We are thrilled to have him home. We are hoping that with better sleep, home-cooked meals and boat-loads of love his health can improve to some degree.
As of writing, he recognizes us and can speak a little, but otherwise is very sleepy and requires around-the-clock care. He's more alert and talkative in the evenings—from about 4pm to 7pm. We'd be delighted for you to visit, but ask that you do two things:
- Plan your visit for the afternoon or evening
- Text Anne, Scott or Evan to arrange the exact timing in advance to avoid a crowd
Thank you so, so much for all of the love and support you've shown us. And rest assured: our fridge is absolutely overflowing. We'll update this space periodically to let you know how things are going ❤️
With love,

A week by the water
May 30th, 2026
Hi all,
We've had Tim home for just over a week and wanted to provide an update.
Tim is stable and comfortable in the bedroom by the water. We've seen small but meaningful improvements to his cognition and memory since his surgery and homecoming. It's been a joy to watch Tim's eyes light up when an old friend comes for a visit, and he's caught us off guard by finishing a sentence for us every now and again. Yet, to be clear, Tim is sleeping a lot, his speech is labored, he gets confused sometimes, and he's not eating much.
Our family have been blessed with an incredible support team to help us navigate many around-the-clock challenges. We are discovering a new groove together. On the evening of the 28th we had a lovely birthday party for Tim, complete with cake and ice cream, gifts, fireworks, helium balloons, and a brief rendition of "the Lollipop Guild", as you can imagine.
If you'd like to visit, we'd love to have you. Please plan for the afternoon and give Anne, Scott or Evan a heads up to avoid a crowd.
With love,
the Perrys'

Steady as she goes...
June 15th, 2026
It's been three weeks since Tim arrived home from the hospital. He has made steady improvement with his alertness, ability to communicate, as well as eating and drinking independently. He spends most of his day in bed with a great view of Long Lake; with help, he can get up and sit in his chair. Last week he was able to get outside on the deck on a beautiful sunny day.

We are supported by wonderful healthcare folks who are kind, considerate and helpful in so many ways. They make Tim and our family's life so much easier. Tim's brother, Mike, has been at his brother's side throughout this journey supporting and encouraging him in his joking, playful way. The Morrison crew have been helpful in so many ways it is impossible to list what they have done for us.
Tim has enjoyed the company of many family members, friends and co-workers. He perks up when they visit. He loves it when they bring pictures of past times together or share stories of past escapades, work trips and vacations. Let us know if you'd like to visit, we just try not to overload his schedule. Thanks!
We are grateful for all the encouraging cards, prayers, telephone calls, texts, meals, hugs and smiles. It's a long and winding road and we are not sure where it is leading, but with everyone's help we are finding our way.
With love,
the Perrys'
